Role Overview

M365Consult is seeking a highly proficient Microsoft Exchange On-Prem Administrator for a long-term full-time contract. You will work for an MSP environment supporting around 10 customers, focusing primarily on on-premises Exchange within hybrid configurations. Approximately 50% of your time will be dedicated to server hardening and upgrades, and the remaining 50% to project work, troubleshooting, and ticket handling.

The onboarding phase will last about 2 weeks at 3 hours per day, followed by a ramp-up to 4–6 hours daily, then to a regular 8 hours per day. Work will be performed during US time zones for non‑English-speaking customers, so you must be comfortable using translation tools in day-to-day work. This role is reserved for true experts; deep technical interviews will be conducted before hiring and throughout onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, manage, and maintain Microsoft Exchange servers and related infrastructure, including upgrades, patching, hardening, and performance optimization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Exchange issues such as mail flow disruptions, database problems, and client connectivity errors.
  • Work extensively with hybrid Exchange configurations, with a strong focus on the on‑premises side.
  • Perform ongoing server hardening and security improvements across multiple customer environments.
  • Handle project-based tasks as well as daily troubleshooting and ticket resolution for approximately 10 MSP customers.
  • Utilize and manage Edge Servers and email security gateways such as EOP, Proofpoint, OPEN Mission Control, and similar tools.
  • Collaborate with distributed teams while working in a primarily non‑English environment, using translation tools where needed.

Requirements

  • Proven, senior-level experience as a Microsoft Exchange On-Prem Administrator, ideally in an MSP or multi-tenant environment.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Exchange Server (on-prem), including hybrid deployments.
  • Strong track record in server hardening, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning.
  • Solid experience troubleshooting mail flow, databases, and client connectivity.
  • Practical knowledge of Edge Servers and email security gateways (EOP, Proofpoint, OPEN Mission Control, etc.).
  • Comfortable working long-term in US time zones with non‑English-speaking customers.
  • Ability to pass demanding, in-depth technical interviews and ongoing technical evaluations.
